Pregnancy scans help monitor the baby’s growth and development throughout each stage of pregnancy. Early scans confirm pregnancy, estimate due dates, and check for heartbeat, while later scans assess anatomy, growth, and wellbeing.
Tests such as the NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test) safely screen for genetic conditions from 10 weeks onwards. Ultrasound is completely safe and provides real-time reassurance for expectant parents. These scans are recommended at key milestones or anytime additional monitoring is needed.
At LIPS Healthcare, we provide private pregnancy ultrasound scans that combine clinical excellence with comfort and convenience. From early reassurance scans to detailed 3D and 4D imaging, our team of specialist sonographers ensures you have clarity about your pregnancy at every stage.
Ultrasound scans offer vital insights into fetal health, growth, and wellbeing. Early scans confirm viability and gestational age, while nuchal translucency and 20-week anomaly scans help monitor development and detect potential concerns. For expectant parents, our scans also provide an opportunity to see your baby and understand growth progress.

Yes — your sonographer will explain your scan results during the appointment. Each ultrasound typically takes around 20–30 minutes. Throughout the scan, we’ll walk you through what’s being seen on screen, explain key measurements and metrics (such as foetal size, heartbeat, and gestational age in the case of foetal scans), and answer any questions you have in real time.
Depending on the type of scan, you’ll also receive printed or digital images to take home as a keepsake. If any findings require medical follow-up, we’ll clearly outline the next steps or refer you to your healthcare provider for further review.
Ultrasound is a highly useful diagnostic tool which can detect many abnormalities without the use of ionising radiation. Ultrasound is specifically useful when looking at the abdomen, the reproductive system as well as the musculoskeletal system. Deciding on the most appropriate diagnostic pathway for exclusion for certain diseases should be discussed with a trusted health practitioner.
